2008 Young Writers Contest Winners
On Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, the Johnson County Library and Reading Reptile hosted its annual Young Writers reception at the Antioch Library, featuring contest-winning stories by children that have been selected and illustrated by local, professional artists.
The contest was open to writers ages 5 to 12. Each illustrator selected a story from contest entries received, and then illustrated a single scene from that story. The original illustrations were presented to the authors of the stories selected. Each contestant also received a certificate of recognition and a Johnson County Library backpack. At the reception, the illustrators made themselves available to chat and sign autographs.
