2008 Young Writers Contest Winners

the illustrators and winning writersOn Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, the Johnson County Library and Reading Reptile hosted its annual Young Writers reception at the Antioch Library, featuring contest-winning stories by children that have been selected and illustrated by local, professional artists.

The contest was open to writers ages 5 to 12. Each illustrator selected a story from contest entries received, and then illustrated a single scene from that story. The original illustrations were presented to the authors of the stories selected. Each contestant also received a certificate of recognition and a Johnson County Library backpack. At the reception, the illustrators made themselves available to chat and sign autographs.
